Tech Valley Connect’s consortium of PhD, MDs, executives and professional hiring employers in the region make up some of the most prestigious and forward-thinking institutes in the Capital Region. The collaborative effort on the part of each organization speaks to the level of need growing nationwide addressing the retention and recruitment of highly talented researchers and top talent. Tech Valley Connect’s innovative workforce development plan has sought to build a partnership of employers who participate by committing their senior managerial people to “informational discussions” with a partner/spouse of a recent or new hire within the consortium. These discussions are designed to build a regional professional network of decision makers in their field for the second partner/spouse and by doing so, enable them eventually find the position which becomes the perfect fit.

Studies show the #1 reason for losing a valued employee is because the partner/spouse could not find career placement or the family didn’t assimilate well in the community. Tech Valley Connect cannot build family ties, but we can certainly address both professional and personal ties by providing a net of resources, introductions and support to a newly relocated family.

Our current membership has shown great vision in realizing keeping jobs and recruiting top talent is critical to the region.
