In an effort to make the transition easier for families relocating to the area, SEFCU, one of the largest credit unions in upstate New York, has partnered with Tech Valley Connect by providing a $25,000 grant. In support of SEFCU’s commitment to the community, the grant assists Tech Valley Connect as they help individuals assimilate into life in the Capital Region by matching newly relocated professionals and their families with volunteer opportunities at local non-profits. Tech Valley Connect’s new strategic volunteer initiative targets not-for-profits and connects them with newly relocated professionals and their families helping to integrate these newcomers into our communities. This program not only fills a void for many non-profits, but allows new Capital Region residents to connect with a community group that matches their passion and helps them network.
Established in 1934, today SEFCU is among the 50 largest credit unions in the U.S. with over 1,000 ways to join, more than $2 billion in assets, over 200,000 members and 42 offices in the Capital Region, Binghamton, Syracuse, and Buffalo. In addition to standard deposit and loan products, SEFCU offers 24-hour banking by phone and Internet, electronic bill payment and eStatements, investment, insurance, and mortgage services, and a full range of business banking services.
